I'm using Flickr for all my up to date photographs now, as I no longer have the time to produce galleries on this site like I used to. All the old stuff is still here though, in the archives!
My Awards
Much to my surprise, this website has managed to win an award or two since I built it in February 2000.

 • Raffy's New Favourite Song

Raffy & Monty's new favourite song.

Now that Mika has released his new single (which I am sure will be No. 1 for several weeks) the boys have a new favourite, and Raffy insisted I put it on 'his' website. But that's fine, because it is a really cracking song...

 • Boys will be boys...

Industrious boys... and Guy. March 2007
Leica M3 with Summicron 50mm DR on Agfa APX 100

We were kindly invited to have Sunday dinner with our friends Aliy & John, along with Claire and Guy Topsom. It was a very warm and sunny afternoon, so the boys played outside happily. Between us, we have rather a lot of boys. I though Guy's slightly bemused expression here is priceless, as the boys industriously build a secret base out of the bricks and slabs...

 • New pictures from March...

The boys watch the waves in Tankerton, February 2007.
Leica MP with Summicron 35mm ASPH on Tri-X 400

Just got a load of films back from February and March. Here are a few shots of the boys... this was taken on a February afternoon in Tankerton. Raffy and Monty spent a happy time throwing stones into the waves.

Milo walking on the wet sand, Broadstairs, March 2007.

We spent a pleasant afternoon on Broadstairs beach one Sunday; the light was fantastic and I was delighted with this shot of Milo strolling along in the glistening sand.

Milo standing tall, Canterbury, March 2007.

I love the defiant look on Milo's face as he stands in our back garden. He's growing into a very determined little boy now, but with big brothers like Raffy and Monty, that's just as well!

 • Paddle Steamer in Grove Ferry

Raffy and Monty by the river at Grove Ferry, March 2007.
Leica M3 with Summicron 50mm DR on Agfa APX100

I took this shot in March while taking the boys for a walk in Grove Ferry, about 6 miles from our house. There's a track that runs along the bank of the river Stour and you could in theory follow this from Canterbury right out to the coast in Sandwich. There's a paddle steamer that runs up and down this stretch of the river, which can be seen here.

 • Cool Ferrari

Cool Ferrari, originally uploaded by Dan Horton-Szar.

I've been re-organising my Flickr account this week, having wiped it so I can upload all of our family photos in some sort of order - the idea being to have an online backup of these photographs which have such sentimental value. It's an awful lot of uploading though - I'm only up to 2004 and I'm already up to 2,400 images! This one was taken in the late eighties in North Devon on a family day out - I've posted it to test the Flickr 'Blog This' function with the new Google version of Blogger, which powers this site...

 • More holiday pictures...

The boys on a walk in the mountains, Elmau, Austria, March 2007.
Canon 400D with 18-55mm kit lens

Vanessa took this great shot of Raffy and Monty next to a lake in the mountains as we went for one of our daily hikes while on holiday.

Raffy and Monty on a cable car in Soll, Austria, March 2007.
Canon 400D with 18-55mm kit lens

On this rather wet and miserable day later in the holiday we took a bus down to Soll and went for a ride in the cable car, which the boys enjoyed, and had a hot chocolate at the summit - which they enjoyed even more.

Milo enjoys a backpack ride with Daddy, Elmau, Austria, March 2007.

On our walks, Milo really took to riding in this backpack, and would spend hours happily watching the world go by. This was very lucky as it wasn't exactly pushchair country.
