Archives
I'm using Flickr for all my up to date photographs now, as I no longer have the time to produce galleries on this site like I used to. All the old stuff is still here though, in the archives!
My Awards Much to my surprise, this website has managed to win an award or two
since I built it in February 2000.

Raffy and Monty had a birthday party to go to this Halloween, and we bought them skeleton suits to wear; this is Monty trying his on before the party.

Another shot from a recent stroll round the centre of Canterbury - this was taken in Guildhall Street on a crisp and sunny October afternoon.

Walk on by..., Canterbury High Street, October 2006. Leica MP with Summilux 50mm Asph on Kodak Tri-X 400
I was taking a walk around the town centre one afternoon when I happened upon this busker playing in a doorway, and thought it would be interesting to capture the people walking briskly past. This shot seemed to work...

Raffy lost his first tooth, October 2006. Leica MP with Summilux 50mm Asph on Kodak Tri-X 400
Raffy had his first wobbly teeth in October, followed quickly by first visits from the Tooth Fairy. I think inflation must be worse in Fairyland than it is in the UK at the moment, because I'm sure we used to get about 10p a tooth when I was a boy and now the going rate is more like a pound!

Picnic in Saffron Walden, October 2006. Leica MP with Summilux 50mm Asph on Kodak Tri-X 400
One weekend in October, Vanessa went to visit an old school friend in Brighton for the day, so I took the boys up to Newmarket to see our friends Ruth & Nathan and their girls. We went for a lovely picnic near Saffron Walden.

Clouds and Cooling Towers, Sandwich, October 2006. Leica MP with Summilux 50mm Asph on Kodak Tri-X 400
I've been meaning to take some pictures of this disused power station near Sandwich, on the East Kent coast, for some time now. I finally found the time one Thursday in October, and luckily the rainy autumn weather granted me some good light for the task.

Milo gets entangled in the chains, Howlett's Zoo, September 2006. Leica M7 with Summilux 50mm Asph on Kodak Tri-X 400
Another nice shot of Milo at the zoo in September - tugging at the chains on oone of the climbing frames in the play area.

|
Monty dangles from a trampoline, Cheveley, September 2006. Contax G2 with 45mm f/2 on Fujifilm 400H Pro
While visiting our friends, the Holts, in September, I took this shot of Monty as he swung from the supports of the large trampoline in their garden. It's very typical of Monty that while everyone else bounced inside the trampoline enclosure, he preferred to walk around the outside swinging from the bars. The path less travelled and all that...

|
Rafferty playing his Thunderbirds game on my notebook, November 2006. Canon EOS 400D with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens (1/30sec f/4.0 ISO 1600)
Over the last couple of months Raffy has been learning how to use the internet - the Cbeebies website a firm favourite. I am still amazed by how quickly he has picked it up, and just by giving him free reign to surf around a few childrens' websites. Here, he is enjoying a free Thunderbirds game we downloaded from the Nick Jr site.

| • The Globe
|
Rafferty studies his new globe, looking for Australia, September 2006. Leica MP with Summilux 50mm Asph on Kodak Tri-X 400
We recently bought an illuminated globe for the boys so they can how the world is round and how days and nights work etc. They also quite like flying their spaceships round it so I'm going to have to find a globe of Mars next...
Monty quite impressed with the whole 'world is round' thing, September 2006. Leica MP with Summilux 50mm Asph on Kodak Tri-X 400
Here's another picture, of Monty enjoying the soft glow of the globe. This also works well in their room as a gentle nightlight.
