Archives
I'm using Flickr for all my up to date photographs now, as I no longer have the time to produce galleries on this site like I used to. All the old stuff is still here though, in the archives!
My Awards
Much to my surprise, this website has managed to win an award or two since I built it in February 2000.

Film is not dead!
 • Monty in uniform...

Monty shows off his Roman centurion outfit, July 2006.
Leica M6 with Summilux 50mm f/1.4 on Fujicolor Pro 400H
and converted to B&W in Photoshop

I took this shot of Monty last month and have just had the film processed. He received this roman soldier costume for his birthday, which was great fun, and spent many happy hours fighting Raffy in it.

 • A couple of new pictures...

Little Strawberry, Canterbury, July 2006
Canon 1Ds Mark II with EF 100mm f/2.0 macro lens (1/60th sec f/8 ISO 400)

Right next to the courgettes we put some planters for the boys to have their own little vegetable garden - the idea was for them to water and care for it, but of course that task ended up coming my way after the first week of enthusiasm. They planted tomatoes, strawberries and runner beans: the runners didn't do too well but we have plenty of tomatoes and little strawberries this summer. Persuading Monty to wait until they are red before eating them is proving to be interesting...

Pink Flower, Canterbury, July 2006
Canon 1Ds Mark II with EF 100mm f/2.0 macro lens (1/320th sec f/10 ISO 400)

Another picture taken in our back garden while experimenting with a macro lens - something I have not done since my teens. I like these plants with ghostly white leaves and stems but vivid pink flowers - but don't know what they are called.
