Archives
I'm using Flickr for all my up to date photographs now, as I no longer have the time to produce galleries on this site like I used to. All the old stuff is still here though, in the archives!
My Awards Much to my surprise, this website has managed to win an award or two
since I built it in February 2000.

| • Courgette Leaf
|
Courgette Leaf in Sunlight, Canterbury, July 2006 Canon 1Ds Mark II with EF 100mm f/2.0 macro lens (1/125th sec f/7.1 ISO 100)
A few weeks of annual leave has given me some time to play with, and I have been experimenting with some macro photography - it's amazing what you can find to shoot right on your doorstep, or in this case about six feet from it. I planted a few tiny courgette plants in June, mainly for decoration, and they have become enormous. This is the morning sunlight filtering through one of the leaves.

| • Guy's 40th Birthday Party
|
The girls at Guy's 40th birthday party, earlier this month. From the left, Lisa, Aliy, Michele, Claire and Anna, with Lucy and Vanessa at the front. Leica M6 with Summilux 50mm f/1.4 on Kodak BW400CN film
Here's the first of the party shots from Guy's surprise 40th birthday party in early July. Claire had managed to keep him mostly in the dark about the whole thing... so the surprise worked well. A top evening was had by all, good food, good beer and some very sorry dancing to old eighties hits later in the evening by yours truly... there are a few more of these up on Flickr for those with access to download and print copies.

| • Yacht and Clouds in Broadstairs
|
Yacht moored just offshore at Broadstairs, with some interesting clouds, July 2005 Leica M6 with Summilux 50mm f/1.4 on Kodak BW400CN film
Vanessa and I spent a lovely night at the Albion Hotel in Broadstairs, after our friend Guy Topsom's 40th birthday party. A good night's sleep was definitely appreciated and we had a lovely breakfast on the terrace the following morning. I saw this yacht moored offshore with the cloud formation directly above and thought it might make an interesting shot...

| • Rust and Lavender
|
Rust and Lavender, Canterbury, July 2006 Canon 1Ds Mark II with EF 100mm f/2.0 macro lens (1/250th sec f/5 ISO 100)
I was busy photographing a load of equipment for a big eBay sale when I noticed the morning sunlight striking an old barbeque in our garden, amongst the lavender blossoms. The light and colours seem to work well together so I took a few frames, and was quite pleased with this result.

| • Happy 3rd Birthday Monty...
|

While having fun in the garden, Monty realised the importance of the current hosepipe ban and quickly attended to a leak. Wish the water companies would do the same... Today is Monty's third birthday and we celebrated with a special breakfast and presents this morning, then lots of dressing up in his new outfits this evening. We're having a big party for him this weekend with lots of friends and family coming down to celebrate both Raffy and Monty's birthdays (they are only six days apart). Favourite present so far - blue Power Ranger outfit. Birthday supper - M&S chicken nuggets, chips and beans.
