Archives
I'm using Flickr for all my up to date photographs now, as I no longer have the time to produce galleries on this site like I used to. All the old stuff is still here though, in the archives!
My Awards Much to my surprise, this website has managed to win an award or two
since I built it in February 2000.

| • Canterbury High Street at 7am
|
I went for an early morning stroll around Canterbury yesterday, to catch some of the wonderful light at that time of day. There are a few new shots in the portfolio now. Here's a nice view of the High Street taken at about 7am, just as the sun was rising.

| • Old Family Photographs
|
I've started a collection of old family photographs on the site - at the moment they go back as far as 1947. The idea is to follow our family history over the decades, and hopefully I'll be able to expand this as I get hold of more pictures to scan and restore. I should also be able to improve the quality of some of the pictures already displayed, as they were obtained from previously compressed files and I can do better once I get hold of the original print. Follow the link on the left, or go to the main picture menu to see these photographs.

| • A Frosty Sunrise on Boxing Day
|
Here's another picture from Boxing Day that I've been working on. This was taken on an early morning walk by the river Stour just after sunrise. There was plenty of crisp white hoar frost on the ground which reflected the blues in the sky while the sun made the trees glow in shades of red.

| • Frosty Leaves
|
A new picture, taken on an early morning walk on Boxing Day. I've been getting back into my photography recently after many months without really making the time. Making the move to digital (having sold the Minolta and bought a Canon digital SLR) really helps as the pictures are available straight away which means you can immediately see the effects of changes you make and improve your technique.

This picture was taken at the seafront in Tankerton, showing some of the colourful beach huts.

| • Sunrise over the river Stour in Fordwich
|
Here's a new photograph taken in Fordwich, which is about a mile down the road from our house. There is a lovely riverside and woodland walk which takes you right into Canterbury. This shot catches the warm light of the winter sunrise on the trees.
