I'm using Flickr for all my up to date photographs now, as I no longer have the time to produce galleries on this site like I used to. All the old stuff is still here though, in the archives!
My Awards Much to my surprise, this website has managed to win an award or two

Hello
Well another weekly update from kili. Things are going well on the building front, we have had a whirlwind week and are now all fully founded brickies, we astounded the locals by doing it in 3 days instead of 2 weeks, so are now well ahead of schedule.
We left early this week for our weekend away, Richard is as we speak climbing mt Kilimanjaro (madness) and we are at the seaside divulging in western foods, its great, me and two of the other girls even got over excited about a quiche earlier today, never thought I’d say that in my lifetime..
Other wise its been a quiet week and we have just been getting on with it, we are making many friends in the local village and we often stay and play cards with them at out local bar. The bar where we frequent has enjoyed our trade so much they have brought us a new table, we are very honored. There will be no pictures until I return, but you will be pleased to know there will be a video!!!
We are of up the coast now to the quieter beaches, then off back to our mountain on Tuesday, to finish our building and paint a mural on it.
The food has been really dire, but i am on target for my wedding weight loss!!!
anyway the work is going well, i will be glad to get on the safari now as it is getting a bit tedious, but i never had a long attension span. hope you are all well love to you all me and rich

Hello
hope you are all well, to mums we apologise for not calling but its is very
expensive and most often the lines are down or people are queued up waiting.
missing real food, but other then that its really going well, rich is in his
element, i'm enjoying it but i'm not as hyper as rich. To many bananas to
mark, sorry rob!
Well this week we got down to the nitty gritty off it all, we started to
build our building ands have made great progress. Although being up the
mountain means we are exposed to the elements and have worked in torrential
rain for a couple of days. We are also the local novelty and work surrounded
by 40-50 children, they do not seem to go to classes. At lunchtime we
usually instigate a footy game, which involves 60 children, and us. Its been
very rewarding so far but we are all knackered, covered in bruises and have
aching limbs. We have found our local bar and pop down most nights to fill
our time. We are off to the local beach resort next week for a long weekend,
just the girls, rich and another bloke are going to climb mt Kilimanjaro
(crazy).
The scenery is beautiful, have only see baby elephants and rhinos so far and
that was the first day when we were back in Kenya, now we are in Tanzania we
have only seen lizards and birds. The nights are very dark and very sudden
so we have been caught out often, it is so dark that we can not see people
until they are inches from your face, so consequently I have screamed at
many people and fallen in many mud puddles, as all our roads are dirt roads,
so you add torrential rain and thunder and its a recipe for disaster.
Anyway thats it for another week, hope you are good, look forward to seeing
you soon
Love vickie and rich
